Terms version 2026-10-02-v2 ยท Effective October 2, 2026
Temporary Home Vendor Market is an extension of Temporary Home that lets independent makers and small businesses sell their products alongside Temporary Home's consignment inventory. As a partner, you run your own storefront, set your prices, and fulfill your own orders. Temporary Home provides the storefront, payments, tax handling, and shopper traffic, and retains a commission on each sale.
This document explains how the marketplace works, the revenue split, payouts, fulfillment responsibilities, product approval, and onboarding. Accepting the partner agreement inside the app confirms you have read and agree to these terms.
Temporary Home retains 15% of the commissionable sale. You receive the remaining 85%. The commissionable amount is the merchandise price after any discounts, plus any shipping the customer pays. Sales tax is never part of the commission base and never reduces your earnings.
Worked example (commissionable sale of $45):
Merchandise after discounts: $40.00 โ TH commission $6.00 ยท You receive $34.00
Customer-paid shipping: $5.00 โ TH commission $0.75 ยท You receive $4.25
Totals: TH commission $6.75 ยท Your earnings $38.25 (tax handled separately)
The split is computed cents-exact and frozen on each order line at the moment of purchase. If Temporary Home ever changes the split later, past purchases are never recalculated.
The 15% Temporary Home commission covers payment processing (credit-card fees) and the platform subscription. Processing fees are never deducted a second time from your 85% โ you receive the full 85% of the commissionable sale.
You fulfill every order for your own products. There is no separate shipping reimbursement: the customer-paid shipping is part of the commissionable sale and splits 15% / 85% just like merchandise, and you pay the actual carrier cost out of your 85% share.
You configure whether you offer shipping, local pickup, or both; a flat-rate shipping amount; an optional free-shipping threshold; and your processing/turnaround time. You are responsible for accurate stock counts and for shipping within your stated processing time.
Printing your shipping label: You can buy a discounted carrier label directly from your order dashboard using Temporary Home's Shippo integration โ the same label service Temporary Home uses. When a paid order comes in, click Buy label, confirm the package weight and the buyer's shipping address, choose a carrier rate, and print the PDF label.
The full cost of the label is charged to you, not to Temporary Home. Temporary Home pays Shippo for the label and then deducts the exact label cost from your earnings on that order; Temporary Home never subsidizes it. The label cost comes out of your 85% share โ including the 85% of the shipping the customer paid. If the shipping the customer paid is less than the label cost, the difference comes out of your merchandise earnings. Temporary Home's 15% commission is never reduced by the label cost. Test orders cannot purchase live labels.
Earnings become releasable 7 days after an order is marked fulfilled (a short window to cover returns and chargebacks). Payouts run on Temporary Home's monthly schedule โ the 1st and 15th โ the same schedule used for consignment payouts.
You choose a payout preference during onboarding: paid to your partner account (with a note such as a PayPal email or Venmo), or routed to a linked Temporary Home consignor seller account. The 85/15 split and the payout schedule are set by Temporary Home and cannot be changed from your dashboard.
You create products as drafts (ready-to-ship or made-to-order) with your own titles, prices, photos, and stock. Temporary Home reviews and approves each product before it goes live. Edits you make to an already-approved product are held as a pending revision until approved, so the public version stays stable.
Temporary Home may grant a partner "trusted publisher" status, which lets your own product and profile edits go live immediately without separate review. Trusted status is granted at Temporary Home's discretion.
If you enable custom orders, shoppers can submit an inquiry describing what they want. Custom requests are unpaid inquiries. You review, message the customer, and send a quote; payment happens only after you and the customer agree and the customer pays through the marketplace. Production begins only after payment is verified.
If Temporary Home issues a refund on one of your orders (for a return, damage, or dispute), the refunded amount is recovered against your earnings. Refunds issued before payout simply reduce your pending balance; refunds issued after you have been paid are recovered from future earnings. Your original payout history is never altered after the fact.
Onboarding starts when a Temporary Home admin sends you an invitation link tied to your business. Accepting the link grants access to exactly that business. Your onboarding checklist is then:
1. Business profile & basics (name, tagline, about, service area)
2. Profile images (logo + cover photo)
3. Order-notification email verified (one-time code to your business email)
4. Shipping / pickup settings & turnaround times
5. Payout preference
6. Partner agreement accepted
7. At least one approved product
Until every step is complete and an admin has verified your notification email and reviewed your shop, your storefront stays private and cannot receive orders.
These commercial terms are snapshotted onto each order at the time of purchase, so a sale is always settled under the terms in effect when it was made. If Temporary Home updates the split, hold period, or schedule, the new terms apply to new sales only. You will be notified of any material change.
When your shop is set up, accepting the agreement in the onboarding dashboard locks in the current commercial terms for your account and records the version and timestamp. Activation to a live, purchasable storefront is the final step and is performed by a Temporary Home admin after your notification email is verified.
Accept these terms and submit your storefront request. We'll review it and email you an invitation link to finish onboarding โ profile, shipping, payouts, and your first products.
