Temporary Home Garage Sales FAQ

What is Temporary Home Garage Sales?

Your garage sale, online and in person—all from the Temporary Home app! Upload photos, let AI help create your listings, and make your items available to Temporary Home shoppers. Hosting a physical garage sale? Print product QR codes and use in-person checkout to accept payments, with the same inventory connecting both experiences. Sell from your driveway, your couch, or both!

How much does it cost?

There’s no subscription or upfront listing fee. AI listing assistance and core selling tools are included. When you sell through Temporary Home checkout, you keep 80% and Temporary Home receives 20%—with payment processing included.

For example, if an item sells for $20, you earn $16. Your share is calculated from the item price after discounts, excluding shipping and tax.

The same pricing applies to online purchases and in-person payments processed through Temporary Home.

Are you a part-time or full-time reseller?

We’d love to have you! Special rates may be available for part-time and full-time resellers. Contact Temporary Home and tell us a little about your resale business so we can discuss the options with you.

Do my items have to be listed for sale on Temporary Home?

Yes! Our included tools help you sell through Temporary Home Garage Sales. Items you create should be published and available for TH shoppers to purchase.

You can save drafts while you finish preparing your listings, but Garage Sales isn’t intended for managing inventory exclusively for sales elsewhere.

Can I also sell my items somewhere else?

Absolutely! You can list on other platforms or sell at your physical garage sale.

When an item is purchased through Temporary Home’s in-person checkout, it automatically becomes unavailable to online shoppers, too—no manual update needed!

If it sells outside TH checkout, such as through another platform or a cash payment, promptly archive it in My Inventory so shoppers don’t purchase something that’s no longer available.

Temporary Home only collects commission on sales processed through TH checkout.

How do online and in-person sales work together?

Both use the same inventory, so you don’t have to maintain two separate lists. When an item sells through TH checkout, its availability updates for both.

Items being held during checkout are temporarily unavailable to other buyers. Bundles stay connected to the individual items inside them to help prevent the same item from selling twice.

How can I prepare for an in-person garage sale?

Open In-person preparation from My Garage Sale or My Inventory. You can print QR labels for items and bundles, scan or search your inventory, and check current prices and availability.

Preparing a cart doesn’t reserve the items or charge the customer. The purchase still needs to go through checkout.

How do QR labels work?

Each QR code connects to an item or bundle in your TH inventory. Scanning it pulls up the current information, so changing a price in TH won’t require a new QR code.

Labels are designed for 2 × 1.5-inch printing. If you’ve printed a price separately on a label, update that printed price when it changes.

Can I accept in-person payments?

In-person payments are coming soon! You can prepare your inventory and QR labels using the available tools. We’ll let you know when checkout is ready to use.

What happens if an order is refunded?

For the refunded amount, your earnings and Temporary Home’s commission are adjusted using the order’s original split.

If you’ve already received your payout, the adjustment may come out of a future payout. Items canceled before fulfillment become available again; returned items are only relisted when they’re ready to sell.
