This publication explains how Temporary Home and our consignors work together. It is part of the Temporary Home Trust Center, our commitment to operating with transparency, consistency, and trust.
This document is currently Founder Approved and reflects the policies and procedures Temporary Home follows today.
Welcome to Temporary Home.
This Consignor Agreement explains the relationship between you ("Consignor") and Temporary Home LLC ("Temporary Home") when you submit children's items for resale through the Temporary Home Platform.
We have intentionally written this Agreement differently than most legal documents. Our goal is not simply to satisfy legal requirements. Our goal is to make sure you understand exactly how Temporary Home works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you in return.

At Temporary Home, we believe trust is earned through transparency, consistency, and keeping our word.
Every item you submit represents memories, resources, and trust placed in our care.

This Agreement explains how Temporary Home and our consignors work together.
By creating an account or submitting a bag for consignment, you agree to the policies that allow us to process, market, sell, ship, and pay you for accepted items while providing a consistent experience for every family who uses Temporary Home.
This Consignor Agreement is a legally binding agreement between Temporary Home LLC ("Temporary Home") and the individual creating a consignor account ("Consignor").
By creating an account, electronically accepting this Agreement, or submitting inventory to Temporary Home, the Consignor agrees to be bound by this Agreement, the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Electronic Communications & E-Sign Consent, Product Acceptance & Safety Policy, Shipping Policy, Return & Store Credit Policy, Donation & Community Giving Policy, and any other policies expressly incorporated by reference.
Temporary Home may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Temporary Home Platform. Continued use of the Platform after acceptance of an updated Agreement constitutes acceptance of the revised version when required through the Platform.
We will always strive to explain our policies clearly and notify you when important changes are made.
For purposes of this Agreement, the following terms have the meanings below:
Temporary Home — Temporary Home LLC and its employees, contractors, systems, and authorized representatives.
Temporary Home Platform — The Temporary Home website, mobile application, administrative systems, and related online services.
Consignor — A person who creates an account and submits items to Temporary Home for resale.
Buyer — A customer purchasing inventory listed by Temporary Home.
Community Partner — A participating school, daycare, church, nonprofit organization, or other approved community location associated with Temporary Home programs.
Bag ID — The unique identifier generated by the Temporary Home Platform for each submitted bag.
Accepted Inventory — Items Temporary Home accepts for resale after inspection.
Rejected Inventory — Items Temporary Home determines do not meet current acceptance standards.
Consignment Period — The period during which Accepted Inventory is offered for sale through Temporary Home.
Trust Center — The collection of Temporary Home policies, agreements, and informational publications available through the Platform.
To consign with Temporary Home, you must be legally able to enter into this Agreement, provide accurate account information, and only submit items that you own or are authorized to sell.
To become a Consignor, you represent and warrant that:
Temporary Home reserves the right to refuse or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate this Agreement.
We will never ask you for unnecessary information, and we will use the information you provide only as described in our Privacy Policy.
Creating your Temporary Home account allows us to identify your inventory, process your payouts, communicate important updates, and personalize your experience.
You only need to complete account creation once. Future submissions will be linked to your account through your Bag ID.
During account creation, you may be required to provide:
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity occurring under your account.
Temporary Home may suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraud, abuse, or repeated violations of Temporary Home policies.
We will make account creation as simple as possible while collecting only the information necessary to operate the marketplace safely and accurately.
Submitting a bag is designed to be simple.
Open the Temporary Home app. Select Submit a Bag. Generate your Bag ID. Label your provided Temporary Home bag. Fill the bag with eligible children's items. Drop it off at an approved Temporary Home location.
We will take it from there.
Each submission must include a valid Bag ID generated through the Temporary Home Platform.
Bag IDs uniquely identify each submission and connect your inventory to your account.
Temporary Home cannot guarantee identification of bags submitted without a valid Bag ID.
If a bag is submitted without a Bag ID and ownership cannot be reasonably verified within fourteen (14) days, Temporary Home may donate, recycle, or otherwise dispose of the contents. Any claim to consignor earnings associated with unidentified items is forfeited.
Each submission also represents your acknowledgment that:
Our Bag ID system exists to protect both you and Temporary Home.
Every accepted bag is tracked through each stage of processing to help ensure accurate inventory management and consignor payouts.
After your bag is received, Temporary Home manages the entire resale process on your behalf.
Our goal is to make children's consignment as convenient as possible while presenting your items professionally to buyers.
The typical process includes:
You can monitor your inventory and sales through your Temporary Home account as new features become available.
Temporary Home has sole discretion regarding the operational methods used to inspect, photograph, describe, categorize, market, store, price, ship, and otherwise administer Accepted Inventory.
Temporary Home may use employees, contractors, automation, artificial intelligence, and third-party service providers to support marketplace operations.
Operational workflows may evolve over time to improve efficiency provided they do not materially alter the rights established in this Agreement.
We treat every accepted item as though it belongs to someone we know and continually improve our processes to provide the best experience possible.
Pricing children's clothing is both an art and a science.
Temporary Home determines the final listing price based on brand, condition, seasonality, market demand, and resale data.
Our goal is to maximize successful sales while helping every item find another Temporary Home.
Temporary Home has sole discretion over pricing and future price adjustments.
Pricing may consider:
Pricing decisions are final.
We strive to price inventory thoughtfully, fairly, and consistently.
Sale proceeds are shared between the Consignor, Temporary Home, and Community Partners.
Standard Marketplace:
• 40% Consignor • 50% Temporary Home • 10% Community Partner
Direct Consignment (before drop-box launch):
• 50% Consignor • 50% Temporary Home
Payouts are issued on the 1st and 15th.
Minimum payout threshold: $25
Available payout methods:
Temporary Home may delay payouts to investigate fraud or payment disputes.
You'll always have visibility into your sales and earnings.
Items remain available for sale for approximately 90 days.
Automatic markdowns occur around Day 60 and Day 75.
Seasonal inventory may remain longer when appropriate.
At the end of the consignment period your selected preference will be followed whenever possible.
Unsold inventory may be:
If no response is received within 30 days after contact, Temporary Home may treat the inventory as donated.
We work to find every item another home whenever possible.
Children's safety comes first.
Every item is inspected before becoming available for sale.
Temporary Home may reject items that are:
Every acceptance decision is made with children's safety in mind.
Temporary Home exercises reasonable care while inventory is in our possession but cannot guarantee against unforeseen events beyond our reasonable control.
We continuously improve inventory tracking, storage, and handling procedures to protect the trust placed in us.
Illinois law governs this Agreement.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
This Agreement, together with the Trust Center publications incorporated by reference, represents the complete agreement between Temporary Home and the Consignor.
